Time to get back to it...

After the holidays and craziness has settled, its always the best time to get back to treating your body right!  Cutting out excess bread, alcohol, and sugar is a great place to start.  Even better is getting back to your juicing.  I immediately feel less swollen and less irritable, and my jeans even start to fit again.  We are lucky enough to get 2 new Nekter Juice stores in Huntington, so I have absolutely no excuse to skip my green juice and green smoothies.  One thing I notice is that most juice shops add parsley to their juices and so I decided to buy some and add it to my current recipe.

There are so many great benefits to parsley...

* Parsley is rich in many vital vitamins,
including Vitamin C,  B 12, K and A. This means parsley keeps your
immune system strong, tones your bones and heals the nervous system, too.

* The rich vitamin C from parley helps protect against
inflammatory problems like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

* Two healing compounds in parsley, myristicin and apiole, help increase urine
flow that removes infection-causing bacteria from the urinary tract.
At the same time, it also detoxify the toxins from the body through urination.
The diuretic effect helps prevent kidney stones and various urinary tract problems.

* The high vitamin C content (higher than oranges) and the multi immune-enhancing
compounds in parsley make it an extraordinary immunity booster.

* Parsley is a good source of folic acid, one of the most important B vitamins. While it plays numerous roles in the body, one of its most critical roles in relation to cardiovascular health is its necessary participation in the process through which the body converts homocysteine into benign molecules. Homocysteine is a potentially dangerous molecule that, at high levels, can directly damage blood vessels, and high levels of homocysteine are associated with a significantly increased risk of heart attack and stroke in people with atherosclerosis or diabetic heart disease. Enjoying foods rich in folic acid, like parsley, is an especially good idea for individuals who either have, or wish to prevent, these diseases. Folic acid is also a critical nutrient for proper cell division and is therefore vitally important for cancer-prevention in two areas of the body that contain rapidly dividing cells—the colon, and in women, the cervix.

And only a million other benfits...

Try adding some to your juice today and see if you feel any of these benefits.
