Ever wonder why you feel so great when walking on the beach in your bare feet?

That's because of something called grounding.  Grounding or Earthing is defined as placing one’s bare feet on the ground whether it be dirt, grass, sand or concrete (especially when humid or wet). When you ground to the electron-enriched earth, an improved balance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system occurs. Dr. Mercola says, "When you provide your body a constant source of free electrons, through diet or grounding you help to radically reduce inflammation which is widely acknowledged as one of the primary factors contributing to premature aging and chronic disease."
When my husband first told me about grounding I thought he was a crazy person, and then after reading about it and realizing how great I felt after my walks on the beach, I became a believer.  I know there is healing in the ocean, so I make sure to try and put my feet on the sand and in the water everyday.

The Ultimate Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory

The Earth is a natural source of electrons and subtle electrical fields, which are essential for proper functioning of our immune systems, circulation, synchronization of biorhythms and other physiological processes and may actually be the most effective, essential, least expensive, and easiest to attain antioxidant.
Modern science has documented the connection between inflammation and all chronic diseases, including the diseases of aging and aging itself. It is important to understand that inflammation is a condition that can be reduced or prevented by grounding your body to the Earth the way virtually all of your ancestors have done for hundreds if not thousands of generations.
Jackie is also a believer!! :)
The ideal location for walking barefoot is the beach, close to or in the water, as sea water is a great conductor. Your body also contains mostly water, so it creates a good connection.
A close second would be a grassy area, especially if it's covered with dew.  According to Dr. Oschman, concrete is a good conductor as long as it hasn't been sealed. Painted concrete does not allow electrons to pass through very well. Materials like asphalt, wood, and typical insulators like plastic or the soles of your shoes, will not allow electrons to pass through and are not suitable for barefoot grounding.
What a great way to unwind from your day and fill your body with good electrons to help you age slower!  Yay for health and beauty!!
